Coach Andy's Hitting E-zine, #26 - Get ready for the upcoming season February 02, 2006 |
HiGet Ready for the upcoming seasonCan you feel it? It's time to get ready for the new season. What, you say it's the dead of winter? But just like in the movie, the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, where it was always winter and never Christmas, there's the hope that it will one day start melting and all will be right with the world again. For us who like baseball and softball, that's the new season. But if you don't get ready, it will be here before you know it and you'll be rusty. Vow this season to come out firing before signups, or at least before the first team practice. Here are the four ways to get readyI. Get educated.Re-read the information on the website - www.theInternetHittingCoach.com Get a book or two on hitting (or playing the game). Visit the library or your favorite bookstore.
Here is a fun site where you can get e-books on how Mickey Mantle and Babe Ruth hit.

I have a great recommendation for you if you need one :)

You don't want to get to tryouts or the first practice looking like you haven't done anything all winter.
If it's too cold to go outside, practice in your basement, garage, or room with a mirror to see if you're doing the right things.
This is a technique a lot of high level athletes use to perform better. It's called "visualization". The Winter Olympics are coming up soon. Watch what the bobsledders and the skiers do before their runs. You can see them shut their eyes and actually go through the whole run in their head. They are seeing themselves executing everything perfectly, thus telling (training) their brains to do it again exactly that way in the future.
You can use this technique in hitting a baseball or hitting a softball just as effectively.
Whether you want to save up for that special bat or want to help your team raise money for some items or even help a whole league, I have a way to help you raise $100 to $3,000 - $9,000.
